Supramolecular Switches

The group have developed a broad range of ion responsive and redox responsive molecular films based on a number of architextures spanning polymeric scaffolds, interlocked molecules, self-assembled monolayers and artificial membranes. Some of this work has been associated with the development of optical switches, redox switches and / or electrochemical ion sensing methodologies in conjuction with integrated microfluidics.

Much of this work is carried out in collaboration with the Beer and Langton groups.
